Dr Graham Beck joined the Medical Specialist Group as a Consultant Anaesthetist in September 2001.

He was born in Yorkshire, and educated at Bradford Grammar School, before training as an undergraduate at Manchester University Medical School where he qualified as a Doctor in 1985.

Following a 3 year period working in Edinburgh, he decided to pursue a career in Anaesthesia and Intensive care, and trained in a number of hospitals in the Manchester area. He was a Consultant Anaesthetist at Trafford General Hospital from 1984 to 2001, prior to joining the Medical Specialist Group.

His initial aim in Guernsey is to help establish an Acute Pain Service to improve the management of post-operative pain control. His specific areas of clinical interest include acute pain control and Intensive Care.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, is on the Specialist Register of the GMC, and is a member of the Association of Anaesthetists and the Intensive Care Society.

His major interest outside work is marathon running.
