Dr Alan Boyle MB ChB FRCA DObstROCG
Consultant AnaesthetistGMC number - 1336722 Dr Boyle is one of eight specialist Anaesthetists working at The Medical Specialist Group. He was born and raised in Scotland and graduated with distinction in Medicine from Glasgow University in 1973. He trained in Anaesthesia at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and became a Fellow of the Faculty of Anaesthesia (now the Royal College of Anaesthetists) in 1978. Dr Boyle was originally appointed to the Albany Medical Practice where for many years he performed the twin roles of Consultant Anaesthetist and family doctor. He is a founding member of the Medical Specialist Group and has at various times been Chairman of the Department of Anaesthesia and the Medical Staff Committee at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital and Medical Advisory Committee of the Board of Health. He provides anaesthesia for a broad range of specialties and procedures and additionally is involved in the management of patients in Intensive Care and performs special clinics and procedures for patients with Chronic Pain including a special interest in acupuncture. He is a member of The Association of Anaesthetists and of the Obstetric Anaesthetists' Association and regularly visits specialist mainland centers to maintain his special interests and general anaesthetic skills. His interests include his large family, keeping fit, music (piano and church organ) boating and travelling. |
