Miss Suzanne Dorey FRCS FRCOphthConsultant Ophthalmic SurgeonGMC number - 3360004 Miss Suzanne Dorey is the most recently appointed of three Consultant Ophthalmologists now working with the Medical Specialist Group. She was born in Guernsey and briefly attended Blanchelande and Ladies College before completing her education in the mainland. She trained as a doctor at St George's Hospital Medical School in London gaining her BSc in Anatomy in 1985 and MBBS in 1988. After qualifying as a doctor, specialist training in Ophthalmology was undertaken. She passed her FRCS (Edinburgh) in 1993 winning the Gold Medal, she passed her FRCOphth in 1994. As part of her specialist training in Ophthalmology some time was spent at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London developing a specialist interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology and strabismus. She was fully accredited as an Ophthalmology Specialist in 1999. Her appointment compliments the existing interests of the current Ophthalmologists and as well as performing cataract surgery she has particular expertise in adjustable squint surgery. She has also attended courses on laser refractive surgery and has established contacts with Laser Vision in Harley Street. She has published research into amblyopia and albinism and presented research at both national and international meetings. She is married to Richard Vowles and has two cats. |
