Mr S. Kairsingh MBBS FRCSEd-Gen.Surg.

Consultant General Surgeon
GMC number - 3531512

Mr Sadeo Kairsingh is a fully trained Vascular/General Surgeon, having completed specialist training in the North West of England. He was born in Trinidad & Tobago and graduated from the University of the West Indies in 1988. In 1992 he entered Basic Surgical Training in Manchester where his first position was in Vascular Surgery, and thus his interest developed. He then entered Higher Surgical Specialist Training in Manchester which involved a two-year period of research into chronic wounds and leg ulceration. He has vast experience in venous and arterial disease with a special interest in diabetic feet. On completion of Higher Surgical Training, Mr Kairsingh undertook a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Bristol Royal Infirmary. This enabled him to consolidate his vascular surgical skills. He worked for 1 year as a Consultant Vascular/General Surgeon in the NHS before taking a 2-year post in the Cayman Islands. He is recognised for performing the first ever successful major vascular operations (Aortic Aneurysm Repairs - Ruptured and Elective) in the Cayman Islands. In this post he also introduced a leg ulcer service with training of nursing staff on the Charing Cross four layer bandage system for venous ulcers. He also performed the vast majority of vascular access procedures for dialysis patients and worked closely with the resident Nephrologist. This experience has been invaluable, not only from performing major surgery with limited resources on a small island but also from the liaisons with the vascular centres in Houston (Texas) and Miami (Florida).

In addition Mr Kairsingh has broad experience in General and Laparoscopic Surgery. His employment in Guernsey will support the provision of general surgical services and would further enhance the specialised treatment of arterial and venous conditions on the island.
