Dr Bryan Lean FRCPCH FRCPConsultant PaediatricianGMC number - 2392295 Dr. Lean has been a Consultant Paediatrician with the Medical Specialist Group since its inception in 1992 having been attracted to the challenge of updating the child health services in a small community. He has played a lead role in these developments over the last decade. Dr Lean was elected as Chairman of the MSG on 1 January 2004. He was born in England and educated at Hutton Grammar School, Preston and qualified as a Doctor at Liverpool University in 1977. He then pursued a career in paediatric medicine which included training at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool and St. Mary's Hospital, Manchester over a period of seven years. Dr. Lean came to Guernsey as a consultant paediatrician in 1986 and was instrumental in the establishment of a modernised child health service including a fully supportive neonatal unit ensuring that even the smallest and most premature babies receive optimal care in light of our relative isolation. His special interests have included neonatology, growth and diabetes. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicans and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He is also registered with the General Medical Council as a specialist in general paediatrics. His main leisure interests are playing the saxophone, jazz music, golf, skiing and scuba-diving. |
