Dr Peter Mullen MB ChB FRCPConsultant PhysicianGMC number - 2644576 Dr Mullen has been a Consultant Physician at the Medical Specialist Group since 1996. He was born in 1957 and educated at St Mary's College Grammar School, Liverpool, before training as an undergraduate at the University of Liverpool where he qualified as a Doctor in 1980. He became a member of the Medical Branch of the Royal Air Force in 1977 and had numerous postings around England, Germany and Cyprus during which time he trained as a Specialist Physician with particular emphasis on Gastroenterology. Dr Mullen came to Guernsey as a Consultant Physician in 1996, and rapidly expanded and developed the local Endoscopy services. In doing so he brought to Guernsey many interventional procedures and techniques that had not previously been available on the island. His special interests particularly include Therapeutic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Clinical Audit. He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians, is on the Specialist Register of the GMC and is also a Member of the British Society of Gastroenterology. He has produced 15 publications and made numerous presentations at specialist medical and Gastroenterological meetings. His major interests outside work include being a referee for the Guernsey Football Association, and he also plays cricket for St Saviour's and holds a Private Pilot's licence. |
