Dr George Oswald MD FRCP

Dr Oswald has been a Consultant Physician at the Medical Specialist Group since its inception in 1992 and was Chairman of the MSG from January 1998 until December 2000.

He was educated at Bedford School and did his undergraduate training at King's College, London, qualifying as a Doctor in 1977, with Honours and Distinctions in Medicine and Surgery.

After a period as a House Doctor at King's College Hospital, Westminster Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton, he undertook a period of research into Coronary Artery disease in diabetic patients at the Whittington Hospital. As a result of this work he had fourteen first author academic papers published and he was subsequently awarded his MD in 1986.

Following this he became a lecturer in Medicine at St Stephen's Hospital, Fulham and Westminster Hospital, London before moving to Guernsey in 1985.

He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 1990, is on the Specialist Register of the GMC and is a member of the British Diabetic Association, the British Clinical Diabetologist Society and the Wessex Diabetic Endocrine Association.

He has special interests and particular additional training in the management of diabetes, endocrinology, neurology, acute general medicine and Intensive Care.

His main interests outside medicine include fishing and skiing.
