Dr Nola Van Heerden FFA(SA) FRCAConsultant AnaesthetistGMC number - 2474825 Dr Van Heerden has been a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Medical Specialist Group since September 2001. Her special areas of expertise are in Paediatric Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. She was born in South Africa and educated at Rustenberg Girls High School, Cape Town before training as an undergracuate at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa where she qualified as doctor in 1976. In 1980, after some initial training in Paediatrics, she commenced training as an Anaesthetist, and became a Fellow of the Faculty of Anaesthesia of the College of Medicine of South Africa in 1984. Prior to coming to Guernsey she worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist in the Red Cross Childrens Hospital Cape Town, the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and most recently Lewisham University Hospital in London, and has vast experience in Paediatric Anaesthesia in particular. She is a member of the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists (UK), The Intensive Care Society (UK and SA), the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council. Her many interests outside medicine include golf, tennis, sailing and squash. |
